If you do not want to have a baby, but you are sexually active, you have to explore your birth control options. It’s nothing something that you want to mess around with. If you have heard that you can’t get pregnant the first time you have sex, or that if the man does not finish you don’t have to worry, you may find out the hard way that neither of those are true. There are many people walking around the earth because people believed those two myths.
If there is penetration, you can get pregnant, and that’s the total truth. You have to consider your birth control options so you can protect yourself from having a child when you are not ready or able. There are may different ones you can go with, and it might be a matter of practicality or even your budget that helps you make your final decision. When it comes to finding out what will work before for you, you should have a talk with a doctor. If you don’t want to visit your family doctor, you can visit Planned Parenthood to discuss your birth control options.
One of the best things you can do is make sure the male partner wears a condom. Not only does this prevent pregnancy, it also protects both partners from sexually transmitted diseases. In fact, even if you choose another of the birth control options, there should always be a condom used. You can also consider taking the pill as one of your birth control options, and if you use both at once, you are double protected from accidents and diseases you don’t want to get.
There are other birth control options you can consider like the IUD or even the female condom. If you can’t make up your mind, look them up online to see what you think and then talk to someone. You may find that you can’t take a pill every day, but you may be able to tolerate getting a shot in the arm every three months to protect you from pregnancy. There is also an implant you can use as one of your birth control options that will protect you for up to five years. No matter what you choose, the important thing is that you do choose, and that you use your protection properly and at all times. Don’t be pressured into sex that you don’t want to have, and don’t allow anyone to talk you out of using protection. If they don’t want you to protect yourself, you can be sure they don’t care for you at all.
