5 Things You Must Know About A Cheap Baby Crib
I didn’t buy my first baby crib, but I am going to buy the second one should we have another child. I had to get rid of the first one because it broke when we were taking it down, and that was just as well. I never liked it, but it was given as a gift. Though I wanted to go out and get one on our own, my husband put is food down and said it was a waste of money because we had a perfectly good one gifted to us. That’s fine, but that didn’t mean I had to like it. The one we were given was metal and painted white, while I was looking for a wooden one. Next time, I will get my own before anyone has a chance to buy me one.
I do appreciate that someone bought me a baby crib, but it seemed like everyone bought everything before I had a chance to think about it. They bought stuff so early I was barely used to the idea that a baby was coming. I had so many doubles that I had to give some to my mom to be used at her house. The baby crib that she had was second hand, but it was a nice crib. She still has it set up in her bedroom because she says that she knows she will need to use it again.
If you can afford to buy a new baby crib, that is most definitely the way to go if you can. Though you will find many good cribs out there that will work just fine, you may not know what you are buying. The one that was bought for us seemed to be just fine, but when it broke as we took it down I realized it wasn’t what I thought it was. That scared me. What would have happened had her baby crib broke while she was in it? Though I know you can’t guarantee that a new one won’t break, at least the odds are much more in your favor that way.
If you get a used baby crib, give it a workout before you allow your baby to sleep in it. Make sure it is sturdy and safe. Make sure all working parts work smoothly and evenly, and make sure you cannot fit your fist between the bars. Also make sure there are no screws or bolts sticking out of odd places on your baby crib that might scratch or cut either you or your new baby.
